Hasan Raza Foresees India-Pakistan Matches Under Hybrid Model
Former Pakistan Test cricketer Hasan Raza stated on Wednesday that future India-Pakistan matches are likely to be held under a hybrid model due to ongoing security concerns. Speaking on Samaa Digital’s programme “Zor Ka Jor”, Raza emphasized the challenges associated with hosting India, citing issues such as security, broadcasting, and logistics.
Reflecting on past events, Raza noted that the situation had changed since former Indian captain MS Dhoni’s team toured Pakistan, highlighting that PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi had worked hard to bring international teams back to Pakistan. However, he believes the current circumstances necessitate the continuation of a hybrid model for India-Pakistan matches.
Raza further explained that heightened security measures were necessary for international players as they represent their countries, and it was crucial to keep their security at a high level.
He also advised PCB Chairman Naqvi not to push India too hard, acknowledging that it was unlikely the Indian team would be willing to travel to Pakistan under the current conditions.
