Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has clarified his earlier remarks about leaving the entertainment industry for religious reasons.
Back in 2019, Hamza announced a break from showbiz to focus on understanding Islam and the afterlife, leading to a long absence from films and dramas. In several interviews, he discussed his decision and his evolving religious views.

In a recent interview, Hamza explained that he never explicitly said he was quitting showbiz. Instead, he stated that he needed time to explore his spiritual journey. He emphasized that his break was not about abandoning acting for religious reasons.
Hamza also shared that he follows the interpretation of Islam presented by scholar Javed Ahmed Ghamidi, who believes that pursuing arts within ethical limits is allowed. Hamza further mentioned that he studied under Ghamidi in Dallas, Texas, during this period of reflection.
