Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar has resigned once again as the president of the party’s Punjab chapter, citing his inability to communicate with Imran Khan and restrictions on his movements as key reasons for his decision.
Azhar, who had previously served as a federal minister under PTI, is currently evading arrest due to multiple charges related to the events of May 9. He expressed his frustrations on social media, stating that he has no access to Imran Khan, has not held a press conference, nor made any deals due to his restricted movement, including his inability to visit Adiala Jail.

He criticized the internal decision-making process within PTI’s Punjab chapter, claiming it was influenced more by lobbying than by merit. Azhar also raised concerns about the limited and biased information being provided to Imran Khan. He cited the removal of Chaudhry Asghar as PTI’s Lahore president as an example of lobbying influencing decisions, suggesting that misleading information was used to facilitate Asghar’s removal despite his contributions to the party.
Azhar further noted that Imran Khan was not fully aware of the struggles faced by PTI members in different regions. He argued that it was impossible for him to support merit-based decisions while being cut off from accurate information about the party’s performance and sacrifices.
