Hamas Rejects Trump’s Gaza Proposal, Vows to Continue Armed Resistance

Palestinian group Hamas has dismissed US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, arguing it favors Israel while disregarding Palestinian rights.

Hamas stated it will not disarm or surrender its weapons, rejecting Trump’s 20-point proposal that also calls for an International Stabilisation Force (ISF) in Gaza. The group labeled the ISF a “new form of occupation,” BBC reported.

While Israeli PM Netanyahu and several Western leaders welcomed the plan, Hamas has yet to release an official statement. Qatar confirmed the group is reviewing the proposal, though internal rifts have emerged. Military commander Ez al-Din al-Haddad is pushing for continued resistance, while Hamas leaders outside Gaza—who lack influence over hostages—have been sidelined in talks.

Other Palestinian factions also voiced opposition, particularly after Washington released a map outlining a possible buffer zone along the Egypt-Gaza border. Hamas fears Israeli involvement could deepen occupation under the guise of security.

Trump has set a four-day deadline for Hamas to respond, warning of “severe consequences” if it refuses. The proposal, endorsed by Israel and some Arab states, aims to end the two-year Gaza conflict. “Hamas will either agree or face a very sad end,” Trump said, adding that prospects for negotiation are “not much.”
