Hamas Offers Hostage Deal to U.S, Seeks Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid Access

Hamas has begun direct negotiations with the United States to facilitate the release of Israeli-American dual national Idan Alexander, in a move aimed at allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza.

In a statement, the group confirmed ongoing communication with the U.S. over recent days, saying the talks are part of broader efforts to secure a ceasefire, open border crossings, and ensure aid reaches civilians in Gaza.

Hamas expressed readiness to finalize a comprehensive agreement that includes ending the war, a mutual prisoner exchange, and the administration of Gaza by an independent, professional authority. The group also acknowledged the mediation efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye.
