Hamas has firmly rejected media claims that it agreed to lay down arms as part of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan. The group clarified that it has not accepted any condition involving disarmament or the surrender of its military capabilities.

In a statement, Hamas said reports suggesting its willingness to disarm were “false and misleading,” accusing certain outlets of spreading propaganda to influence public opinion. The group reaffirmed that resistance remains its legitimate right as long as Israeli occupation and aggression continue.

Trump’s multi-point Gaza peace initiative — which has gained attention for proposing a phased ceasefire and governance restructuring — reportedly included a clause related to disarmament of armed factions. However, Hamas insists it has not participated in any negotiation that compromises its stance on resistance.

The group also criticized the U.S. for what it called “biased mediation” in favor of Israel, saying true peace can only be achieved through an end to the blockade and recognition of Palestinian rights.

Observers note that this denial from Hamas highlights the complex path ahead for any future peace deal, as disarmament remains one of the most disputed conditions between the parties involved.
