According to Al Jazeera, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh conveyed the group’s acceptance of the ceasefire to Qatari and Egyptian mediators. The approval was communicated by Haniyeh in a phone call with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian intelligence minister Abbas Kamel.

Hamas released a statement on their official website confirming Haniyeh’s communication, stating their agreement with the proposed ceasefire.
