Gunmen Ambush Car Near Kotdiji, Two Killed in Sindh

Unidentified gunmen ambushed a moving car near Kotdiji in Sindh on Tuesday, killing two people in a targeted attack, police confirmed.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred on a link road outside Kotdiji town when armed assailants intercepted the vehicle and opened heavy fire without warning. The sudden attack created panic in the surrounding area, forcing nearby residents to seek cover.

Police officials said both occupants of the car sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot due to the severity of their injuries. The attackers reportedly fled immediately after the shooting, taking advantage of the deserted road and darkness.

Local residents informed authorities shortly after the gunfire, prompting police and rescue teams to rush to the scene. Law enforcement personnel cordoned off the area and began preliminary investigations to secure evidence and prevent contamination.

The victims’ bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities and post-mortem examinations. Doctors confirmed death due to excessive blood loss caused by multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

Forensic teams collected bullet casings and other material from the site, which has been sent for laboratory analysis. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage from nearby roads to identify the attackers’ movements before and after the ambush.

Police stated that the motive behind the attack remains unclear at this stage. However, authorities are exploring several angles, including personal enmity, tribal disputes, and previous conflicts that may have led to the deadly assault.

Senior police officers said raids are being conducted in surrounding areas to trace the suspects. Checkpoints have also been set up on major routes to prevent the attackers from escaping the district.

The incident has once again raised concerns about law and order in parts of Sindh, with residents demanding increased patrols and stronger security measures to curb rising incidents of armed violence.
