The Green Pakistan Initiative was officially launched in Cholistan, aiming to revolutionize agriculture in the region and provide comprehensive support to farmers. The initiative is set to transform the farming landscape by offering advanced agricultural solutions and ensuring farmer-friendly services.
The launch event saw prominent figures in attendance, including Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Musadik Malik. Highlighting the importance of modern agricultural practices, the initiative includes the establishment of a Green Mall and Service Company, a Smart Agri Farm, and an Agricultural Research and Facility Centre.

The Green Agri Mall and Service Company will provide farmers with high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides at discounted prices, ensuring accessibility and convenience with doorstep delivery. In addition, farmers will be able to rent agricultural machinery, including drones, at affordable rates, making advanced tools more accessible to small and medium-sized farms.
The initiative also launched a 5,000-acre smart farm that features state-of-the-art irrigation and farming techniques. The goal of this smart farm is to encourage sustainable agricultural practices while increasing yields and reducing costs. Additionally, the Agricultural Research Centre will serve as a key facility offering soil testing, laboratory services, and a hub for research and education in agriculture across Pakistan.
During the event, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of this initiative, calling it the beginning of an agricultural revolution in Punjab. She also distributed land allotment letters to the children of martyrs and injured veterans. General Asim Munir praised Punjab’s role as the agricultural backbone of Pakistan and reiterated the army’s commitment to supporting the country’s economic growth.
