Authorities Issue Caution Over Passport Application Scam

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has issued an alert regarding a scam linked to the Google Maps listing of the Regional Passport Office in Islamabad’s G-10 area. The authority revealed that a fraudster has added personal contact details to the listing and has been unlawfully demanding payments via JazzCash and bank transfers.

DGIP clarified that no private individual is authorized to collect payments for passport-related services, urging citizens not to share personal information or send money to such scammers. The advisory reminded the public to only rely on official sources and contact the DGIP Helpline at 051-111-344-777 for assistance.

The department thanked citizens for their vigilance and stressed its ongoing efforts to prevent fraudulent activities. For accurate details, people are encouraged to visit the official DGIP website (www.dgip.gov.pk) or follow its verified social media accounts (@dgipofficial).
