[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Islamabad: Due to a low turnout of Hajj applications, Pakistan has chosen to extend the deadline under the government scheme. Currently, only 40,175 applications have been received, prompting authorities to seek ways to boost participation.
Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, mentioned that the deadline is being extended by 10 days, with the formal announcement expected today.
Applications for Hajj are being accepted under both government and sponsorship schemes. The minister noted that the economic situation has led to a decline in the number of Hajj applications, despite efforts to reduce expenses and introduce short-term facilities.

Despite these measures, the number of applications has decreased this year, leading to the return of almost 20,000 quotas to Saudi Arabia, following a drop in Hajj pilgrims last year.
In a separate development, Pakistan has removed the mandatory Covid vaccination certificate requirement for next year’s Hajj pilgrims. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony made this announcement on its official Twitter handle, stating that the requirement for a Covid vaccination certificate for 2024 Hajj pilgrims has been abolished.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
