The government of Pakistan has unveiled the Prime Minister Ramazan Package 2026, a major welfare initiative aimed at supporting low-income households during the holy month. Officials say the program is designed to reduce financial stress caused by inflation and rising essential commodity prices nationwide.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the package as a historic relief step, confirming that Rs38 billion has been allocated to assist deserving families. Authorities stated the funds will be distributed through structured channels to ensure transparency, fairness, and timely delivery before and during Ramadan.
Under the scheme, Rs13,000 will be provided to 2.1 million families who are not currently receiving financial assistance through the federal government’s Kafalat support system. Officials explained that this targeted payment aims to cover basic food and household expenses during the fasting month.
In addition, Rs10 billion has been approved for roughly 10 million families already registered under the Kafalat program. This supplementary assistance is intended to enhance existing stipends and help beneficiaries manage rising living costs while maintaining dignity and financial stability.
Authorities have also launched an online eligibility portal where applicants can verify qualification status using their national identity card number. The digital system is designed to simplify verification, reduce processing delays, and eliminate manual paperwork often associated with government aid programs.
Officials confirmed payments will be transferred through bank accounts and mobile wallets to prevent fraud and ensure transparency. A dedicated helpline, 9999, has also been established to guide beneficiaries, resolve complaints, and provide information regarding registration, payment timelines, and eligibility requirements.
