[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]According to a statement issued by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday, the government granted a three-day holiday for Eid al Adha, which will be observed on June 29.
“[…] it is for general information that the Prime Minister is pleased to approve the public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha as follows:
- 29th and 30th June, 2023 (Thursday and Friday) for the offices observing five days working in a week; and
- 29th June to 1st July, 2023 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) for the offices observing 6 days working in a week.”
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee had reported the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon in Pakistan the day before, indicating that Eid ul Adha will be celebrated across the country on June 29 (Thursday).
The judgement was made during a meeting of the moon sighting committee, which was chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
The chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal committee stated that witnesses to moon sightings had come from a variety of cities, including Karachi, Lahore, and others.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO, the Department of Meteorology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The decision was also made with assistance from Ruet-e-Hilal zonal committees that met in their respective cities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
