The federal government has approved refunds for applicants who were unable to perform Hajj despite completing the registration process. The decision comes as a relief for those who had deposited funds but could not proceed with the pilgrimage due to health problems, death, or other unavoidable circumstances.
According to an official notification, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued comprehensive guidelines outlining the refund procedure. Under the policy, applicants or their families can apply for reimbursement by fulfilling specific requirements. These include submitting a copy of the applicant’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), the original bank receipt of the first installment, and relevant medical certificates if the applicant was declared unfit to travel.
In cases where an applicant has passed away, the family must also provide a valid death certificate along with the refund request. All applications must be addressed to the Accounts Officer of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and accompanied by the required documents for verification.
Officials stated that this measure ensures transparency and fairness in handling deposits made by Hajj applicants. The government emphasized that genuine cases will be prioritized, enabling affected individuals or their families to reclaim their deposited amounts without unnecessary delays.
