Government Launches SAP Skills Program To Secure Jobs For Trainees

The Government of Pakistan has launched a major initiative under the Ignite National Technology Fund to train 2,500 youth in high-demand SAP certifications. The program aims to ensure that 80% of certified trainees secure jobs, either locally or internationally.

The SAP Skills Development and Employment Facilitation Program will be conducted in two batches: 1,000 trainees in the first batch and 1,500 in the second. Training centers will operate in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, providing accessible learning opportunities across major cities.

Alongside technical SAP training, participants will receive soft skills development, CV writing, interview coaching, and introductory language courses in German and Arabic. These additions prepare trainees for employment in global markets, including Saudi Arabia, Germany, the EU, Japan, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The Government emphasized that the initiative provides a structured and legal pathway to international employment, discouraging illegal migration. Trainees will pay a nominal commitment fee, while selected contractors ensure completion of training and certification exams.

A German international partner will assist in mapping global job demand and liaising with employers to strengthen placement opportunities. Only authorized SAP partners or Value Added Resellers are eligible to run the program. The RFP includes strict transparency measures, anti-corruption clauses, and allows contract termination for non-performance. Compliance will be monitored by a Project Review Committee comprising Ignite, SAP Pakistan, the contractor, and the German partner.

The second batch will continue based on the success of the first, including certification pass rates and job placements. The 25-month project is expected to enhance Pakistan’s IT workforce export potential, align with the Prime Minister’s digital vision, and provide thousands of young Pakistanis access to high-value global careers.
