Authorities have intensified their crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), forming special teams to detain party workers.
Sources reveal that federal police have planned a major operation near Islamabad’s 26 Number Chungi area. SHOs from all precincts have been called to clear the area of PTI activists and illegal Afghan residents, with a permanent police presence being established for sustained control.

The move comes after a PTI protest last month in which a police officer was martyred near the same location. To counter PTI’s planned November 24 protests, Section 144 has been imposed in Islamabad for two months, extending to Rawalpindi, while key entry points are blocked with containers.
Internet and mobile services are also being partially suspended across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad to disrupt communication during the demonstrations.
These measures reflect the government’s efforts to strengthen security and reduce disruptions in response to PTI’s call for nationwide participation in the protests.
