Google announces scholarships for Balochistan students.

QUETTA: Technology Valley Pakistan, a Google country partner, has announced 1,000 Information Technology (IT) scholarships for Balochistan students.

This was announced by Umar Farooq, CEO of Tech Valley, during a press conference on Wednesday with Balochistan Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Uqaili.

Farooq stated that the Tech Valley is pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with five different departments of the Baloch government to distribute Google Career Certificate Scholarships in the region.

This is Tech Valley Pakistan’s first collaboration with the provincial government, and it includes collaboration with colleges, higher and technical education departments, education departments, science, information, and technology departments, labour and manpower departments, industries and commerce departments, and health departments.

The signing of the MoU is a significant step forward in Tech Valley Pakistan’s efforts to empower individuals and communities throughout Pakistan through digital education and skill development.

Tech Valley Pakistan will collaborate closely with all of these provincial departments as part of the partnership to provide access to high-quality digital education and skill development programmes.

“I want to recognise the efforts of Tech Valley, Google Career Certificate programme, and all of our departments, especially our information secretary, who made this partnership possible,” Abdul Aziz Uquaili said during the ceremony.

Our goal with this programme is to give students access to high-quality training and certification programmes that will help them compete in the fast-paced and dynamic tech industry.”

The Google Career Certificates programme is a self-paced, flexible online training programme that can prepare students for careers in a variety of high-growth fields.

Specialized training, assessments, mentorship sessions, and hands-on practical experience are all part of the programme.

Furthermore, Google employees with decades of experience in these fields teach and develop the programme.

“We want to empower Balochistan’s youth by giving them access to cutting-edge digital tools and certifications.” We can help our students gain access to cutting-edge digital education and skill development programmes that will prepare them for the job market with the help of Tech Valley Pakistan,” said Information Secretary Hamza Shafqaat.

Scholarships will be available for globally recognised certifications in job-ready skills such as project management, user interface/user experience design, digital marketing and e-commerce, IT support and automation, data analytics, and cybersecurity.
