Gold Prices Surge in Pakistan, Near Rs. 400,000 per Tola

Gold prices in Pakistan reached new highs on Tuesday, following gains in the international market as hopes of a US interest rate cut increased demand for the safe-haven metal.

The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported that gold per tola rose by Rs. 4,700, hitting a record Rs. 391,000. Ten grams of gold also surged by Rs. 4,030, reaching Rs. 335,219.

The previous day, the per tola price had remained steady at Rs. 386,300. APGJSA noted that international gold prices stood at $3,692 per ounce, including a $20 premium, marking a $49 daily rise. Silver prices also increased by Rs. 53 to Rs. 4,496 per tola.

In global markets, spot gold reached a record $3,689.27 per ounce before slightly easing to $3,681.18, while US December gold futures remained steady at $3,718.50.
