Gold prices saw an upward movement in both local and international markets on the first day of the New Year. According to data from the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of per tola gold rose by Rs1,000, reaching Rs273,600. Similarly, the 10-gram gold price increased by Rs857, settling at Rs234,568.
Internationally, gold prices also gained, with the price per ounce rising by $10 to $2,624.

In 2024, gold prices increased by Rs52,600 per tola. The price of gold per tola in 2024 saw a 23.9% rise, with the highest recorded price at Rs287,900 and the lowest at Rs210,800.
On the global front, gold prices surged by $552 per ounce in 2024, reaching $2,614, reflecting a 26.7% increase. The global price of gold per ounce ranged between $2,010 and $2,784 during the year.
