Gold prices reach record-breaking levels in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan continued to rise for the third consecutive day, reaching an all-time high on Thursday.

According to data from the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the per tola gold price increased by Rs1,600, settling at Rs290,300. Similarly, the 10-gram gold rate rose by Rs1,372, reaching Rs248,885.

In the international market, gold also saw gains as the per-ounce price climbed by $15, settling at $2,778.

On Wednesday, the per tola gold price rose by Rs2,300, reaching Rs288,700, while the 10-gram rate increased by Rs1,972, settling at Rs247,513.

Meanwhile, the federal government is expected to raise petrol prices for the first fortnight of February 2025. Reports suggest petrol may increase by Rs3 per liter and high-speed diesel by Rs6 per liter, with new rates to be announced on January 31.
