Obaid-Chinoy emphasised the importance of advocating for API people and stories, emphasising the importance of representation.

Chinoy singled out Gold House for recognising the cast and creators of the popular series Ms Marvel. Iman Vellani, who plays iconic superhero Kamala Khan, was honoured by being named to Gold House’s prestigious A100 list.

The A100 list honours Asian Pacific leaders who have had a significant impact on culture and society in the previous year. Vellani was named a “rising leader who will redefine canon for the Asian Pacific community” by the award committee.

“The work that Gold House is doing is so important,” Obaid-Chinoy wrote. “It’s time to stand up for our people and our stories!” As we did when we gathered to celebrate Sana, Iman, and Asad!” Bing Chen, Impact Founder and Investor, was also thanked by the acclaimed director.
