Members of the group known as Foerderverein GreenTeam Uni Stuttgart e.V. study a variety of courses at the University of Stuttgart.
The electric car was created and constructed by students on Campus Vaihingen.
The E0711-11Evo, as it is affectionately called, is an electric vehicle with a top power of 180 kilowatts and a weight of slightly under 145 kilogrammes. This is made possible by the four-wheel drive’s incorporation of motors built by an academic institution and a recently developed high-voltage battery pack.
But the road to record-breaking success wasn’t always straightforward. When the electric car took off swiftly and hit a pile of tyres in July, the crew suffered a serious setback.
