Starting January 1, 2025, a new demographic group called Generation Beta will officially emerge, comprising individuals born between 2025 and 2039. By 2035, this generation is projected to make up 16% of the global population. Many members of Generation Beta are expected to live well into the 22nd century, according to social researcher Mark McCrindle, who is credited with defining generational labels.
Generation Beta follows Generation Alpha (born 2010–2024) and is the latest cohort to be named using the Greek alphabet, a convention that started with Generation Alpha. Unlike previous generations, which grew up with the rise of smart technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), Beta babies are set to live in a world where AI, automation, and immersive technologies are fully integrated into daily life. Autonomous transportation, wearable health technologies, and virtual environments will become commonplace for them.

Experts predict that while Generation Beta will experience significant technological advancements, they will also inherit a world facing global challenges such as climate change, urbanization, and shifting population dynamics. As a result, adaptability, collaboration, and sustainability are expected to become key values for this generation.
With a growing focus on eco-consciousness, Generation Beta will likely face even greater pressure to prioritize sustainability in all aspects of life. Furthermore, as social media continues to evolve, they may need to address the challenge of fostering meaningful human connections in an increasingly digital world.
As this generation begins to take shape, understanding their needs and values will be crucial in predicting how they will influence society’s future. Generation Beta stands at the crossroads of technological innovation and environmental responsibility, shaping the next chapter of human history.
