Geely's Premium Electric Vehicles Set to Launch in Pakistan Soon

Geely Partners with Capital Smart Motors to Launch Premium EV Brands in Pakistan

Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market continues to gain traction, and now Chinese automotive giant Geely is set to enter the scene through a strategic partnership with Capital Smart Motors (CSM) — a new initiative by Habib Rafiq Limited. The collaboration will bring Zeekr, Riddara, and Farizon, three of Geely’s premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brands, to Pakistani roads.

The Partnership: Geely × Capital Smart Motors

The agreement was formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Geely and CSM, aiming to revolutionize mobility in Pakistan with a range of advanced, sustainable electric vehicles. Backed by the experience of delivering massive infrastructure projects like Capital Smart City and Lahore Smart City, CSM is now shifting gears into automotive innovation, promising a fusion of cutting-edge EV tech and real estate development insight.

What’s Coming to Pakistan?

While specific models haven’t been announced yet, each of the three Geely brands will cater to a different market segment:

  • Zeekr: High-end electric sedans and crossovers, known globally for models like the Zeekr 001, X, 007, and the Mix — all boasting futuristic designs, luxury interiors, and long driving ranges.
  • Riddara: Electric pickups designed for performance and utility, targeting rugged commercial and lifestyle users.
  • Farizon: A range of electric commercial vehicles, including buses and cargo trucks, tailored for fleet and industrial use.

Sources suggest that CSM plans to begin sales within the next few months, potentially positioning Geely among the top players in Pakistan’s EV segment right from the start.

Context: Pakistan’s Booming EV Landscape

Geely’s entry comes at a time of rapid EV expansion in Pakistan. The federal government’s 2024 National Electric Vehicle (NEV) Policy has accelerated this growth by offering consumer and manufacturer incentives, supporting EV infrastructure, and promoting environmentally sustainable transport solutions.

Recently, brands like BYD, Deepal, Seres, Honri Ve, and Omoda have already debuted their models in Pakistan. The arrival of Geely — one of the world’s largest and most technologically advanced automakers — adds serious momentum to this shift.

What’s Next?

If Geely and CSM stay on track, we may soon see Zeekr sedans and SUVs cruising on Pakistani roads, alongside electric pickups and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, reshaping the nation’s auto market for good.
