On Sunday, a gunman crossing from Jordan killed three Israelis at the Allenby Bridge border in the occupied West Bank before being shot dead by security forces. This incident, which occurred in a commercial cargo area where Jordanian trucks offload cargo, is the first of its kind since the onset of the conflict between Hamas and Israel. Following the attack, Israel closed all three land border crossings with Jordan.

In response to the broader conflict, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu connected the attack to ongoing tensions involving Iran and Hamas. The incident also prompted Jordan to detain several truck drivers for questioning as part of their investigation.

In Gaza, an Israeli airstrike on the same day resulted in the deaths of five people, including two women, two children, and a senior official in the Civil Defence. This strike targeted the home of Mohammed Morsi, the deputy director of the Civil Defence in the Jabaliya camp.

Since the start of the war, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports over 40,000 Palestinian deaths and widespread displacement, with around 90% of Gaza’s population affected.
