Negotiations in Cairo aimed at securing a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have yet to yield significant progress, with discussions on Saturday failing to bridge key gaps. Israeli demands to retain control of the Philadelphi Corridor remain a major sticking point, while humanitarian conditions in Gaza continue to worsen.

The recent escalation has led to increased casualties, with Israeli military strikes killing 50 people on Saturday alone. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is severe, with rising malnutrition and the discovery of polio. The situation remains dire, with ongoing fighting contributing to widespread suffering among Gaza’s 2.3 million residents.
