A dangerous meat supply racket has been exposed in Lahore, where spoiled and diseased chickens were being delivered to popular eateries, including famous fast-food chains, hotels, and roadside shawarma and burger stalls.
According to reports, the rotten poultry was being transported using motorcycles, rickshaws, and other informal vehicles. Acting on intelligence, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) raided Tollinton Market and arrested a rickshaw driver caught red-handed supplying the unsafe meat.

During the crackdown, over 217,000 kilograms of meat were inspected, and 1,800 unfit chickens were immediately destroyed to prevent them from reaching consumers. The PFA confirmed that a formal case has been filed against the supplier, with further investigations underway. Authorities stressed zero tolerance against those putting public health at risk, vowing stricter enforcement and improved standards in Lahore’s meat supply chain.
