Fully Funded Master's and PhD Scholarships in Germany Now Open to Pakistani Applicants

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has officially opened applications for the 2025 session of its renowned EPOS (Development-Related Postgraduate Courses) Scholarship Program. This fully funded opportunity is tailored for professionals from developing and newly industrialized countries who wish to pursue Master’s or PhD studies in Germany.

The programme is aimed at empowering mid-career professionals with at least two years of relevant work experience by offering advanced academic training focused on sustainable development. Recipients are expected to return to their home countries after graduation and take on leadership roles in public institutions, private sectors, or civil society, contributing to meaningful and lasting change.

DAAD’s EPOS initiative is rooted in objectives such as enhancing capacity building, preparing future leaders in development fields, and promoting international cooperation for sustainable progress.

Eligible applicants must come from countries classified as developing or newly industrialised. They must hold a Bachelor’s degree—generally of four years’ duration—in a relevant field, along with at least two years of practical experience. Candidates should also demonstrate a strong development-related motivation and a clear vision for how their studies will contribute to their home country.

Selected students will receive generous financial support, including a monthly stipend of €992 for Master’s programs and €1,300 for PhD studies. The scholarship also covers health, accident, and personal liability insurance, along with a travel allowance. Additional benefits may include a rent subsidy and family support where applicable.

The funding duration ranges between 12 to 42 months, depending on the specific programme. However, only DAAD-listed postgraduate courses are eligible for funding under this scheme. Interested applicants are encouraged to view the full list of programmes and application deadlines for the academic years 2026/27.

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic excellence, relevant work experience, demonstrated commitment to sustainable development, social responsibility, and leadership potential.
