Freezing Cold Sweeps Islamabad as Temperature Plunges to 0°C Again

Record-Low Temperatures Sweep Across Pakistan and Kashmir

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has reported record-low temperatures across the country and parts of Kashmir today, December 13, 2024, with many regions experiencing freezing conditions. Notably, Leh recorded the lowest temperature of -12°C.

Other areas also faced severe cold, including:

  • Astore at -11°C
  • Skardu at -9°C
  • Quetta, Kalam, and Gupis each at -6°C
  • Hunza, Bagrot, Ziarat, and Kalat at -5°C
  • Gilgit, Chitral, and Dir at -4°C

  • Lahore: 5°C

  • Skardu: -9°C
  • Murree: -1°C
  • Faisalabad: 4°C
  • Multan: 6°C

Temperatures in Kashmir and Surrounding Areas:

  • Srinagar: -2°C
  • Jammu: 4°C
  • Leh: -12°C
  • Pulwama: -3°C
  • Anantnag: -2°C
  • Shopian: -3°C
  • Baramulla: -3°C

The cold wave has intensified, with the Met Office advising the public to take necessary precautions against the extreme winter conditions.
