Free tablets announced for school and college students

The Sindh Textbook Board has unveiled a new initiative to provide free tablets to students from Grade 9 to Intermediate throughout Sindh. This program aims to ensure uninterrupted education for students. The announcement was made at a Sindh Textbook Board warehouse event in Karachi, attended by Chairman Abdul Aleem Lashari. The event also included the distribution of textbooks for the upcoming academic year.

Chairman Lashari noted that the tablets are intended to prevent delays and shortages in textbooks. The initiative will be implemented in two phases: the first phase will target senior students, while the second phase will cover other grades. The broader goal is to transition towards a paperless education system to meet contemporary needs.

The first phase of the tablet distribution started on July 30, with the second phase set to commence on August 15. Chairman Lashari also warned that publishers who miss deadlines will face penalties.
