Foxconn and Nvidia Launch AI Data Centre Project in Taiwan

Foxconn has announced that its upcoming AI data centre in partnership with Nvidia will be built in phases, aiming for a total power capacity of 100 megawatts. The announcement was made by Foxconn Chairman Young Liu during the Computex 2025 event in Taipei.

The centre, which will begin with an initial 20 megawatts and expand as power becomes available, will be located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is part of a larger initiative involving Nvidia, TSMC, and the Taiwanese government to boost the island’s role in global AI infrastructure.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang described the facility as an “AI factory” meant to serve Foxconn, Nvidia, and Taiwan’s broader tech ecosystem. He noted that Nvidia works with over 350 partners in Taiwan, highlighting its importance in the AI supply chain.

The data centre will support AI training, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, and next-gen computing. It also marks Foxconn’s continued shift toward high-value tech sectors like semiconductors and renewable energy.
