Four Individuals Summoned Over False Social Media Propaganda

JIT Issues Notices to Four More Individuals Over Social Media Propaganda

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed by the federal government has issued notices to four more individuals for allegedly spreading false propaganda on social media. The individuals summoned are Sardar Azhar Tariq Khan, Siraj Ahmed, Asif Rashid, and Muhammad Arshad, who are required to appear before the JIT on December 16.

This move follows earlier notices sent to seven other individuals, including Sibghatullah Virk, Muhammad Arshad, Attaur Rehman, Azhar Mashwani, Uroosa Nadeem Shah, Komal Afridi, and M Ali Malik. These individuals were scheduled to appear on December 13.

The JIT, formed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), is tasked with investigating and curbing crimes related to the misuse of social media. Operating under the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad police, the team is focused on identifying the motives behind the actions of the accused and their associates.

According to officials, the JIT has gathered solid evidence linking the individuals to activities aimed at creating chaos in the country through malicious propaganda.
