During a landing at Islamabad International Airport, the tail of a foreign airliner collided with the runway. According to sources, the plane attempted a failed landing and then hit the runway during takeoff.

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) and AAIB – Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) launched an investigation into the incident. According to sources close to PCAA, the airline has been ordered to ground the plane at the Islamabad airport until the investigation is completed.

A PCCA spokesperson confirmed the tail strike incident at Islamabad International Airport. After informing the control tower, the pilot changed his decision to land the aircraft first and prioritise ‘go round’ after an unstable landing attempt.

The second landing attempt was also successful, but inspectors discovered scratches on the plane’s tail. According to the spokesperson, the pilot’s urine and blood specimens were collected in accordance with SOPs, and the Airbus company was informed about the tail strike incident.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
