[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with political leaders on Wednesday to discuss his upcoming visit to India for the Shanghai Corporation Organisation (SCO) foreign ministers meeting.
Bilawal will travel to India for a two-day visit on Thursday to attend the conference in Goa. The foreign minister will lead Pakistan’s delegation to the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) on May 4-5.
Bilawal Bhutto spoke with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Convenor Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui about his upcoming trip to India. He also sought advice from other political leaders.
The Foreign Office stated in a statement that the foreign minister was attending the SCO-CFM meeting at the invitation of the meeting’s current chair, Dr S Jaishankar, India’s Minister for External Affairs.
“Our participation in the meeting reflects Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO Charter and processes, as well as the importance Pakistan places on the region in its foreign policy priorities,” said a spokesperson for the Foreign Office.
