Five Family Members Lose Lives In Tragic Hazara Motorway Accident

A tragic road accident on the Hazara Motorway claimed the lives of five family members on Tuesday near the Shah Maqsood Interchange.

According to Motorway Police, the crash happened when a speeding trailer struck a Toyota Corolla from behind. The car was pushed forward into another trailer, leading to a devastating impact. All five passengers, including three men and two women, died instantly.

The victims were identified as 39-year-old Raza Saleem from Gilgit and his family members. They were traveling toward Rawalpindi when the fatal accident occurred on the busy Hazara Motorway. Rescue 1122 and Motorway Police reached the site shortly after the incident. The bodies were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Havelian for medico-legal formalities.

Officials stated that the accident was caused by the negligence of the trailer driver, who was reportedly driving at high speed. Motorway Police have repeatedly warned heavy vehicle drivers about reckless behavior on highways, particularly in the Hazara region, where road traffic remains heavy.

Authorities stressed that overspeeding and negligence by heavy vehicles pose serious risks for other road users. They urged drivers to follow safety rules and remain alert while traveling through motorways to prevent such tragedies.

The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety and the enforcement of traffic laws in Pakistan. Strict action against reckless drivers and improved monitoring could help reduce accidents and protect lives.

This devastating accident serves as a reminder of the urgent need for safer driving practices on national highways.
