The teaser for ‘Barzakh,’ an Indian web series featuring acclaimed Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, has been released. Produced by the Indian OTT streaming platform Zee5, the series will be available on Zindagi’s YouTube channel and Zee5 on July 19.
‘Barzakh’ was filmed in Karachi and the popular tourist destination Hunza in Pakistan, featuring an entirely Pakistani cast. The series is written and directed by Asim Abbasi, known for his work on Zee Zindagi’s acclaimed series *Churails* and *Cake*, Pakistan’s official entry for the 2018 Oscars.

The show premiered at the prestigious Series Mania Festival in France in 2023. This marks Asim Abbasi’s second collaboration with Zindagi. Additionally, the series reunites Sanam Saeed and Fawad Khan, who last worked together in the highly successful *Zindagi Gulzar Hai* in 2013.
Alongside Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, the cast includes Faiza Gillani, Iman Suleman, Khushhal Khan, Aniqah Zulfikar Ali, Salman Shahid, and Franco Giust.
The teaser provides a brief glimpse of key characters, showcasing scenes where Sanam Saeed, Fawad Khan, and others apply kohl to their eyes in front of mirrors. The series revolves around the story of a 76-year-old man’s second marriage. Filming for ‘Barzakh’ was completed in March 2022, and it was also presented at a French film festival in February 2023.
The series is set to premiere on July 19 and will be available on Zee5 and Zindagi Channel.
