The one-day conference, which will take place on May 29, 2023, at a nearby hotel in Islamabad, is being planned in collaboration with important industry participants from the non-bank financial sector and institutions that support the capital market infrastructure.
The responsibility of guaranteeing the soundness and stability of the Islamic financial services sector, including banking, the capital markets, and insurance/takaful, in line with Shariah, falls on AAOIFI, a famous international standard-setting group with a base in Bahrain. It has published more than 115 standards to far in the fields of Shariah, accounting, auditing, ethics, and governance, all of which have been adopted or modified in various ways by at least 47 jurisdictions and 41 nations worldwide.

The purpose of the subject conference is to outline the future course for Islamic capital markets in light of the Federal Shariat Court’s (FSC) most recent ruling and the market’s dynamically shifting nature. The conference’s topic is “ICM developments with ecosystem completion: innovation, growth, and transformation” in response to the increasing demand for the global expansion of Islamic capital markets.
The conference is scheduled to draw notable speakers, decision-makers, and professionals from the global Islamic financial services sector from Bahrain, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE, and the UK. The conference will include prominent participants from the local stock market, the mutual fund sector, non-banking financial institutions, and Pakistani takaful industry representatives.
