First electric bus of Pakistan launches in Karachi.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The launch of Pakistan’s first electric bus service in Karachi was announced by Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Friday. The minister said in a tweet that the bus service will be available to city residents starting today.

He explained that this service will begin from Tank Chowk Malir Cantt and travel via Khayaban e Ittehad to the Clock Tower Roundabout and Sea View Defense. The Sindh Mass Transit Authority claims that because these electric buses are solar-powered, they are environmentally benign.

These bases will also have affordable fares and provide a comfortable ride. Memon stated in a tweet from yesterday that the PPP-led Sindh government “is always focused on growth, progress, and prosperity.” The Sindh government made the decision to introduce electric taxi services for Karachi residents last month, including pink cabs operated by women for female clients.

Memon had stated that the service will launch in two phases, using cabs that were blue and pink in colour. To ensure safety and security, the pink cabs will be fitted with cameras and a monitoring system. The transition to electric transportation services aspires to be environmentally friendly, secure, cost-effective, and comfortable for people.
