Local officials in New Delhi, India’s capital, reported on Sunday that a fire at a children’s hospital resulted in the deaths of six babies. Television footage showed firefighters working to extinguish the blaze, which began late Saturday night and spread to the hospital in the eastern part of the city.
The fire department stated that six other children were rescued and transferred to another hospital. One of the rescued children required a ventilator. The fire has since been contained.

According to Delhi police, the owner of the children’s hospital has gone missing. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the incident on the social networking site X, stating, “The causes of the incident are being investigated and whoever is responsible for this negligence will not be spared.”
This tragic event occurred just one day after a fire at an entertainment center in the western state of Gujarat claimed 27 lives. Local media reported that two individuals have been arrested in connection with that incident.
