The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) successfully stopped seven passengers from illegally traveling to Italy. The operation took place at Karachi Airport, where the passengers were about to board flights under the pretext of visiting Azerbaijan.
The detained individuals were identified as Adnan Zahoor, Usman Rafiq, Aftab Ahmed, Muhammad Aizaz, Imad Hussain, Mubashir Hussain, and Ihtesham Elahi. They were intercepted before their departure to prevent illegal entry into Europe.
According to the FIA investigation, the group planned a complex route. They intended to fly from Baku to Dubai and Malaysia. From there, they would travel to Turkey and Libya. Their final destination was Italy, which they aimed to reach through illegal sea routes.
The FIA uncovered that each traveler had paid between Rs 2 million and Rs 4.5 million to agents who organized this illegal journey. The payments were made to facilitate the route and bypass immigration controls.
After their arrest, the individuals were handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further questioning. The FIA is continuing its investigation to identify and apprehend the agents behind this operation.
This successful action demonstrates the FIA’s commitment to combating illegal migration and human trafficking. The agency remains vigilant against such threats and continues to strengthen border security.
The FIA urges the public to avoid illegal travel schemes and report suspicious activities. These operations not only endanger lives but also violate national laws and international agreements.
Overall, the FIA’s efforts in this case highlight its role in protecting Pakistan’s borders and preventing unlawful movement of people.
