The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two individuals involved in illegal currency exchange activities in Karachi, recovering $45,000, valued at over PKR 12.5 million. The arrests were made following a raid by the FIA’s State Bank Circle at a private bank branch located near the Stock Exchange parking lot.
The arrested individuals, Mohammad Faisal, the branch manager of the private bank, and Maysam Raza, were caught in the act of conducting foreign currency exchange without proper authorization. The operation was based on confidential information, and the FIA has registered a case against the suspects. Investigations are ongoing, and additional arrests are expected as the detained individuals provide further information.

In a separate operation, FIA Immigration arrested two wanted suspects arriving at Islamabad Airport. One of the suspects, Adnan Abbas, was returning from Saudi Arabia and was wanted by the Islamabad Cyber Crime Circle for a 2023 case involving online sexual harassment. The other individual had been on the run for 11 years.
