Karachi Human Smuggling Network Exposed by FIA Operation

Karachi authorities have uncovered an organised human smuggling network involving UAE-bound tourist visas. The operation was carried out by the FIA Immigration at Karachi airport.

During the raid, a woman was arrested while attempting to travel to the United Arab Emirates for immoral work. She is a resident of Faisalabad and revealed that she was recruited under the pretext of employment at a massage centre.

The woman said she was lured through Facebook and WhatsApp with promises of a monthly salary of Rs150,000. A facilitator living in the UAE arranged her visa and travel ticket. Before her departure, she stayed in Karachi under supervision of the network.

Evidence recovered from the suspect’s mobile phone included chats, voice notes, and records of financial transactions among the gang members.

In addition to the woman, a married couple travelling abroad with her was also arrested. Based on the woman’s identification, authorities detained several sub-agents and a driver present in the airport parking area.

All suspects have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further investigation. FIA officials confirmed that the probe is ongoing to dismantle the entire network and identify additional members.

The FIA warned citizens to be cautious of schemes that lure people abroad with false job offers. Authorities stressed verifying employment opportunities before traveling overseas.

This operation highlights Pakistan’s continued efforts to crack down on human trafficking and protect citizens from exploitation. The FIA said it will continue monitoring suspicious networks to prevent similar incidents in the future.
