To determine the new customs values, the directorate conducted a thorough analysis of 90 days’ worth of import data, current market trends, and discrepancies between market prices and existing customs values, in accordance with Sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act, 1969.

A meeting was held with relevant stakeholders, who were invited to present their views and submit import documentation to support their claims. Based on this comprehensive review, the transaction value for these mobile phone LCD screens has now been determined, and this value will be used for assessing duties and taxes going forward.
