Non-Duty-Paid Vehicles Confiscated in Major FBR Raid

The FBR conducted a major raid in Quetta, seizing non-duty-paid vehicles valued at Rs. 158 million. The operation targeted a showroom on Saryab Road as part of the government’s crackdown on smuggling and illicit trade.

Officials confiscated five vehicles, including a Toyota Revo 2020, three Toyota Land Cruisers, and a Honda Civic Hybrid 2007, according to an FBR statement issued Thursday. All vehicles were illegally imported without paying the required customs duties and taxes.

The FBR spokesperson said the operation reflects the government’s commitment to protecting the national economy and curbing illegal trade. The raid is part of a larger intelligence-based campaign to recover smuggled goods across the country.

In recent months, the FBR has intensified enforcement actions against non-duty-paid vehicles. These illegal imports not only cause significant revenue losses but also harm legitimate businesses in Pakistan’s automobile sector. The FBR said strict measures are necessary to ensure compliance with customs regulations.

Customs officials have conducted similar raids in major cities, targeting smuggled vehicles and other non-duty-paid goods. The nationwide campaign aims to dismantle networks involved in illicit trade and enforce economic laws.

Authorities emphasized that sustained monitoring and intelligence operations are crucial to tackling smuggling. The FBR warned citizens to avoid illegal imports and cooperate with customs rules to prevent legal action.

The Quetta operation highlights the FBR’s ongoing efforts to maintain market fairness and safeguard Pakistan’s revenue. Officials said that high-value enforcement actions will continue until smuggling activities are fully curbed.
