The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing Sales Tax and Federal Excise Returns for the tax period of June 2025 to August 4, 2025. However, this extension is only valid if the applicable sales tax liability is paid within the original due date.

The FBR issued official instructions regarding this extension on Thursday to Chief Commissioners of Inland Revenue, including those at Large Taxpayers Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs).

Exercising its authority under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, the FBR confirmed that the return submission date, initially set for July 18, 2025, has now been pushed to August 4, 2025—provided that tax payments are made by the original deadline.
