Fawad Alam announces to leave Pakistan Cricket

Fawad Alam, a veteran Pakistani cricketer, has opted to go to the United States of America (USA) and begin a new chapter in his career.

According to media sources, the 37-year-old cricketer is preparing to take the pitch for the Chicago Kingsmen in the Minor League Cricket (MLC) T20.

The left-hander’s decision represents a trend among cricketers who have chosen to relocate their playing base from Pakistan to the United States in order to revitalise their careers.

Saif Badar, Mohammad Mohsin, Hammad Azam, and Sami Aslam are among the players who have lately relocated to the United States to pursue a cricket career.

It is worth noting that Fawad Alam last played for the national side during the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which ended in a tie.

As a result, the middle-order hitter was forced to miss the three-match Test series against England and the two-match Test series against New Zealand.

Mohammad Wasim explained his dismissal from the team, saying, “He could not perform well in the previous three series, which is why we selected Saud Shakeel.”

Fawad played 19 Tests for Pakistan, amassing 1,011 runs at an average of 38.88 and a strike rate of 46.58, with five hundreds and two half-centuries.
