Police authorities have made major progress in the investigation into the abduction and murder of Farukh Afzal in Islamabad. Officials shared fresh details about the case, including the alleged involvement of multiple suspects.
According to the City SP, investigations revealed that suspect Mahnoor Shahid had connections with Farukh Afzal, Kashif Shah, and lawyer Ahsan Bhutta. Police said these links became a key part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities claimed that Mahnoor Shahid allegedly assigned suspect Saifullah to carry out the murder. Investigators further stated that more attacks were reportedly being planned after the killing of Farukh Afzal.

Saifullah, who serves as a constable in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, has been arrested in the case. Officials confirmed that he is also the son of a DSP. Police arrested him along with Mahnoor Shahid during an operation in Swat.
