Afridi told the media that there were initial worries about the left-handed batter’s performance and fitness, which led to his original exclusion from the list of 22 candidates.
Zaman, however, passed the fitness test Afridi gave him after taking over as the interim Chief Selector and was found to be healthy and prepared for the national squad.

The opening of a five-match ODI series included a magnificent century from Fakhar, who struck 117 runs off just 114 balls, including 13 boundaries and a maximum.
