The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced that Fakhar Zaman will not be available for the upcoming World Cup match against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20 due to a knee injury. It is expected that this left-handed opener will recover and be eligible for selection in the following week.

In the meantime, Salman Ali Agha experienced a fever after the training session on Wednesday and is presently recuperating from it.

All the other members of the 15-player squad are in good health.

In the days leading up to the mentioned match, several players had been dealing with fever, resulting in the absence of six squad members during their initial training session on Tuesday. The players who chose to rest on Tuesday included Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan.

After a comprehensive examination led by Dr. Saleem, the medical officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), five of the players mentioned above were declared fit to rejoin the training session on Wednesday. As a result, all the players from the Pakistan squad, except for Mohammad Haris, who continued to recover from fever, actively participated in the training.
