Fake NAB Chairman Apprehended In Lahore

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]A man posing as the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was apprehended in Lahore, the capital city of Punjab.

The suspect, along with his brother, was captured by the intelligence wing of NAB Lahore following a complaint lodged against them.

According to a spokesperson from the anti-corruption watchdog, the suspects engaged in blackmailing citizens to extort money by falsely presenting themselves as high-ranking NAB officials.

Subsequently, the suspects were transferred to the Chung police station for further legal proceedings.

As of now, Lt Gen retired Nazir Ahmed has been serving as the NAB Chairman since March 2023. His appointment followed the resignation of Aftab Sultan from the position and was designated for a three-year term.

Nazir Ahmed Butt has an extensive military background, having previously served as the 30th president of the National Defence University from April 2016 to December 2016. Additionally, he held positions as Pakistan’s military attaché in the US and military secretary to the prime minister of Pakistan.

Commissioned in the 40 Frontier Force Regiment of the Pakistan Army in 1983, Nazir Ahmed Butt is a recipient of the Hilal e Imtiaz award. He completed his education at the Command and Staff College and the National Defence University in Pakistan.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
